A quality finish begins long before the first coat of paint is applied. Proper surface preparation, including filling, sanding, sealing, and priming where required, ensures the final result is even, durable, and free from imperfections. Every detail matters, from clean cut lines to consistent coverage and the correct application of premium interior paints designed for long-term performance.
Equally important is the way the work is carried out within the home. Interior painting often takes place in occupied living spaces, which requires a respectful, quiet, and unobtrusive approach. Furniture, flooring, and personal belongings are carefully protected, and work areas are kept clean and organised throughout the project. The aim is to minimise disruption so daily routines can continue as smoothly as possible.
Communication is clear and professional from start to finish, and scheduling is adapted to suit the household wherever possible. This ensures that the process feels controlled and stress-free for the client, rather than intrusive or disruptive.
The result is a high-quality interior finish that not only enhances the appearance of the home but is achieved through a professional, discreet service that respects the space, the occupants, and the importance of maintaining comfort during the entire project.
I initially asked Silas to quote, being one of 3 painters. He was the middle quote, in respect to cost, however I liked his energy and attention to detail in his communication regarding the number of coats, preparation work and options around the quality of paint products etc.
Initially he painted the outside of the granny flat and the garage. I then rehired him to do the inside of the granny flat. Then my guest room. Then the back of my house that had been re-clad, and my greenhouse.
This week he has redone the master bedroom and some touch up work that was missed by the original painter.
He is quiet, respectful, diligent and considerate of the constraints of me running a business from home. He is filled with information in respect to paint types and colours, and has never been dismissive of my 48 million questions!
I only have one newly lined room left to do and I will unquestionably ask him to do that as well.
He brings a very gentle quality around the house and has a great sense of humour.
I cannot recommend him highly enough!

We assess walls, ceilings and timberwork before filling, sanding, sealing or priming where required. Floors, furniture and belongings are protected, and the work area is kept orderly as each stage is completed.
Room order, access and drying time are discussed before work begins. Clear communication and a considered schedule help the household continue using the home while the painting progresses.
